Essential Qualifications
  • Recognised Qualifications in Diversional Therapy or Recreational Activities or working towards same
  • Experience in working with elderly persons in residential care
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Quality Improvement, OH&S and Infection Control practices and principles
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to develop and implement individual and group activities
Desirable Qualifications
  • Recognised qualifications in Massage Therapy, Music Therapy of other related complementary therapies.
Role Summary
As a Leisure & Lifestyle Officer within SummitCare, you will be accountable to the Operations Manager or Manager - Care & Lifestyle for the day-to-day management of the resident activity program. Your main responsibility is to ensure residents social and recreational needs are assessed and carried out, through the development of a therapeutic activities program. You will also be required to participate in continuous quality improvement activities and ongoing education programs to ensure that all aspects of resident care encompass the mission, vision and operating principles of the organisation.
