2009 Recognition Event
Event Date: 21/10/2009
SummitCare continues to recognise the achievements and dedication of its staff with what is now the 5th Annual Recognition Event.
At this years event representatives from TAFE attended the ceremony and presented staff who successfully completed courses with their certificates along with a congratulatory gift from SummitCare.
Category award winners for the Summit Star program (a initiative that awards staff for outstanding effort and achievement, over and above their role, throughout the year) were presented with Certificates of Achievement and prizes along with the three nominated Commodation Awards winners. Commendation awards this year were sponsored by Medclean, Jasol and Hartmann. Representatives from these companies attended the ceremonies and presented the prizes to the winners.
The Recognition Event also acknowledges and rewards staff for significant years of service within SummitCare. This year proudly saw three members of staff celebrated their 25th year and two staff celebrated their 20th year with SummitCare. An outstanding achievement.

On the 3rd of June SummitCare was awarded the Silver Award at a function hosted in Brisbane. This is a first for the aged care industry and it acknowledges that SummitCare has a model that goes beyond regulatory mandates.
Duncan Lilley, Global Head of Assurance Services for SAI Global, which manages the Awards, said “SummitCare demonstrated a best practice culture that sustains continued improvements in the face of major change”. “SummitCare has a model that goes beyond regulatory mandates. Its enthusiasm to deliver superior facilities and service has seen each of its homes fully accredited and externally verified”
“It positively influences the direction of aged care at federal and state government levels. SummitCare lives the essence of continuous improvement,” added Mr Lilley.
On 22nd October this year, SummitCare hosted its 4th annual recognition event; an important occasion to celebrate the huge impact our staff have on the lives of residents and their loved ones. Making this day even more special, Summit launched its new brand identity, giving attendees the very first glimpse. This year, we had over 100 presentations to make, including years of service milestones, graduates of education programs, and Summit Star category winners.
