For most of us, our memories of growing up centre around the dining table. It is where families would come together each day, telling stories, talking about their lives, their successes and failures, the good and the bad. Meal times at SummitCare aged care homes brings with it the same culture of coming together as a family as we express our values of Warmth, Worth and Wellbeing in our approach to diet and nutrition.
With the aid of our Executive Chef Amit Nagpal and professional dietitians who oversee every menu option prepared across all our homes, we bring each meal time a sense of community and belonging as we provide all residents with dining room and meal options that suit their needs, specific tastes, dietary requirements, textures or cultural/religious preferences. SummitCare practices safe and effective services and support for daily living in the manner of the resident’s choosing, with the ultimate goal of optimising their health, wellbeing and quality of life.
All food is cooked fresh and on-site with menu choices changed seasonally with help from resident food focus groups within individual homes, ensuring the food prepared is delicious and diverse. With the aim of providing that wonderful ‘home-cooked’ feel to all our menu options, we look forward to the challenges of wonderfully surprising the most discerning of palates and providing the very best in nutrition for our residents.
